BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College field hockey team fell to Gettysburg 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday night.

How It Happened
- Gettysburg had a chance early in the game as Jillian Somers fired a shot on target just over a minute in that was turned away by Madalyn Miller in goal for the Eagles. BC had a pair of penalty corners but did not register a shot on either occasion. The Bullets had a trio of corners late in the frame and fired a shot on goal that was again turned away by Miller.
- Neither team registered a shot in the second quarter and Gettysburg had the only penalty corner of the period to send the contest to the half tied at 0-0. Bridgewater had a chance in the first three minutes of the half as Rylie Flick's shot was blocked and Lexi Francis had a shot turned away by Emilia Saccento for GC. The Bullets flipped the field and had a shot on goal turned away by Ashey Nau and BC did the same following the save and Emily Tyler's effort was saved by Saccento to keep the game scoreless after three.
- BC had a penalty corner mid-way through the fourth but did not register a shot off the chance. Neither team registered a shot on goal in the final quarter to send the game to the extra frame.
- BC had the first opportunity in overtime, but Daphne Daymude's effort went wide. Gettysburg fired a shot on target three minutes in and Nau made he stop. Flick had two more shots, and neither were on target. Gettysburg flipped the field after the misfires and capitalized on a series of penalty corners as Cassie DeBileck broke the knot and gave the Bullets the victory.

- Tyler and Francis registered the only shots on frame for the Eagles, while Gettysburg registered six shots on goal.
- Miller made a pair of saves while Nau made three stops for the Eagles in net. Saccento stopped both shots that got to her.
- GC held an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners.
