WESTMINSTER, Md. -- The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team fell to McDaniel, 14-7, at Gill Stadium on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles scored first as Kaity Petersheim scored off an assist from Grace Pietro before Petersheim added her second of the game just 15 seconds later as BC jumped ahead 2-0 with 12:40 left in the first. Jenna Entsminger scored her fifth of the year after getting a pass from Lauren Roberts to give the Eagles a 3-0 edge, but after a Green Terror timeout, the home team controlled the ensuing draw and marched down field scoring a goal to get one make and make it 3-1. That scoreline held for the final 12 minutes of the opening quarter.
- The scoring pace remained low in the second quarter as the first goal of the period came with under six minutes left as Charlotte Alexander got her second of the contest to make it a one-goal game, 3-2. Emma Legacy tied the game with a goal at the 5:39 mark, but Brooke Hanson gave the Eagles the lead right back as she scored with a helper to Aunnie Hacker, 4-3, with three minutes left in the half. Petersheim completed a first half hat trick with a goal just a few ticks under two minutes left in the second quarter to push the BC lead to two goals. The home team struck once more as Addison Utterback scored in the last minute of the half to make the halftime score 5-4, in favor of the Eagles.
- The Green Terror started the second half with a pair of goals to take their first lead of the game, 6-5, with 11:15 on the clock. Entsminger was able to tie the game up again less than three minutes later and Hacker scored as the Eagles took a 7-6 lead going into the final period of regulation.
- McDaniel went on an 8-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to take the lead and go on to win the contest, 14-7.
GAME STATS
- Petersheim finished with a hat trick, two draw controls, four caused turnovers and five ground balls.Â
- Entsminger had a pair of goals, while Hacker had a goal and an assist in the loss.
- Hanson scored a goal as well. Pietro and Roberts each had an assist.Â
- Tavin Krick had a caused turnover to go with three ground balls, while Maisen Jenkins had the same. Ashley Venit, Julia Mohler, Caris Cianelli, Pietro and Annika Benson all had one CT.
- Lindsay Davis had three ground balls, as well.
- Jenkins made 14 saves in the cage in her first collegiate start, while Caleigh Kohr stopped two shots for McDaniel.
- The Green Terror outshot the Eagles 38-12 and had an 18-7 edge in draw controls.
