HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights started the scoring as Piper Searle scored inside the game's first minute to give the home team an early 1-0 lead. Aunnie Hacker scored off an assist from Ashley Venit to tie the game just 30 seconds later and Lauren Roberts took a pass from Brooke Hanson to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead with 8:29 left in the quarter, which held until the clock hit zeros.
  • Jenna Entsminger kicked off the second quarter off a feed from Kaity Petersheim to double the lead to two goals at 3-1 and BC continued a four-goal scoring run off the stick of Venit to put Bridgewater ahead 4-1 with 12:38 left in the half. Kiah Baisden went back-to-back to bring the home team back into the game at 4-3 and Reagan Bullock tied the game at 4-4 as the clock ticked under 10 minutes to go in the second. Venit pushed the Eagles back in front with a goal at the 8:18 mark and Roberts put BC up by two once again with a goal at the seven-minute mark. An up goal by Paige Mayers gave Bridgewater a 7-4 lead and Petersheim added one more to make it an 8-4 lead for the Eagles in the last two minutes of the half. Searle scored her second of the night for the Knights but the Eagles still led 8-5 at the break.
  • Baisden completed a hat trick to start off the second half, but Mayers connected on a free-position attempt to maintain a three-goal advantage. Another score by Baisden kept the Knights in the game at 9-7 with eight minutes to go in the third. Annika Benson found the back of the cage in the last seconds of the quarter to give BC a 10-7 lead going into the final 15 minutes.
  • The Knights refused to slow down as the home side cut the lead back down to two in the opening minutes of the fourth period, but back-to-back goals by Roberts and Mayers gave the Eagles a four-goal cushion. The Knights were able to get just one more goal in the last minute as the Eagles walked away with a 12-9 victory.
