  • Once more, each side went down in order in the third before BC struck first in the fourth.  Jazmyne Smith got the party started as she doubled. Mueller walked to put a pair of runners on and Delaney Lail singled driving in Smith to get the scoring started. Kaelyn Ramsey singled and drove in Mueller to put BC ahead 2-0.
  • McKenzie Cauthorn sat down UMW in order in the fourth and the home side repaid the favor in the top of the fifth. Mary Washington struck back with a run in the bottom of the frame by virtue of a passed ball and a hit.
  • The two sides remained scoreless with BC holding a 2-1 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh. UMW got runners on and advanced them to the corners. Mary Washington tried to execute a double steal to bring in the game-tying run and di it successfully to knot the game at 2-2. Erica Nelson came in and ended the inning as she recorded a punch out and induced a ground ball that BC turned into a double play to send the game to extra innings.
  • The eighth frame came with chaos. BC came to the plate first and Mary Washington got two quick outs, but the international-tiebreak runner advanced to third. Smith dug in next and delivered with a two-run blast to put BC in front 4-2. UMW got out of the jam and went to work in the home half of the inning. The home side started the frame with a hit to put runners on the corners. A BC error during the next at bat brought in both runners to tie the game. The home side kept the momentum rolling as it added a double to left field to drive in the game-winning run.

  • Mary Washington got a runner on in the home half of the third and advanced them all the way to third before a clutch strikeout from Elena Williams held BC maintained the lead. Bridgewater had two runners on in the third, but a UMW double play kept the lead to just 2-0.
