HARRSONBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Men's Soccer team fell 2-1 on the road Wednesday night at the hands of EMU.

How It Happened
- EMU pushed early and had a throw in opportunity in the second minute in the offensive end. The throw deflected off the back of a BC player and went into the back of the net for an own-goal to make it 1-0 EMU with lots of time left to play.
- The Eagles must have taken the goal personally as they pushed for offense. Ali Malik fired a shot just off target in the ninth minute, but 107 seconds later Riley Queen found Trey Widrick to tie the game at 1-1.
- Both teams settled in after the game-tying tally. The Eagles were able to fire off a trio of shots, but none reached the cage sending the game to the half tied at 1-1.
- The Eagles had a chance right of the break, but Anthony Medrano had his shot turned away by Andrew Arledge in goal for EMU. EMU flipped the field off of a BC corner kick and had an opportunity, but a save from Charles Schweinefuss kept th game tied. The Eagles ha multiple chances down he stretch with the best coming in the 77th minute as Les Savage had a shot turned aside by Arledge and Queen fired a shot on the rebound that was also saved by Arledge.
- The Royals flipped the field and settled in during the final 10 minutes with multiple corner kicks. Their final one came in the 85th minute and the Royals were able to capitalize as Arledge found Josiah king during the melee for the score to make it 2-1 EMU.
Match Notes
- Widrick was the only Eagle with multiple shots and was one of four Eagles with shots on target, joined by Queen, Medrano and Savage.
- Schweinefuss made a trio of stops for the Eagles in the loss while Arledge made four saves for EMU.
- The Eagles held a 10-9 edge in total shots and a 5-4 edge in shots on target.
