How It Happened
- The Garnet wasted no time in finding the back of the net as a long throw in found the box and Lauren Lior put it away to give Swarthmore an early 1-0 lead just over three minutes in.
- Bridgewater quickly tried to retaliate right off the restart as the Eagles got off three shots in just over a two-minute span, but none found the cage. Katherine King fired the final of the three BC attempts wide of the cage leading to a Garnet goal kick. Swarthmore took the ball the length of the pitch and added to their lead as Keren Maze found Ava Gizzie on a cut and buried the shot in the opposite corner of the goal making it 2-0 for the home side.
- Off the ensuing restart, BC fired up the pressure again working into the Garnet half of the field and earning a corner kick. King set up on the far side and curled the kick into the upper 90 on the far side for the score pulling the Eagles back to within one only eight minutes into the game.
- Swarthmore continued to apply pressure with a few more shots on net in the opening half but Carlee Gaboury stood tall in the crease to keep it a one score game heading to the half.
- Bridgewater got the offense started in the second half as Katelyn Seagraves ripped a shot on goal, but Dahlia Bedward turned it aside. The Eagles kept the intensity up as a Garnet foul led to a free kick for BC in a dangerous spot. Laura Narby got a shot off, but it went wide. Swarthmore attempted to clear on the ensuing goal kick, but Bridgewater forced a turnover and Alicia Keo fired a shot and Bedward ate it up to maintain the lead.
- The intensity ramped up over the final minutes. Felisa Racinez stepped up and intercepted a pass and sent it to the middle where Narby went to make a play and she was taken down just outside the box. The ball rolled into the box and Madeline Bohan went to take a shot, but she was taken down from behind leading to a penalty kick. Keo was called upon for the PK and buried it in the right side of the net to tie the game 2-2.

On the second attempt Karen Maze took it and hooked it in off a deflection by a Bridgewater defender to take a 3-2 advantage with just over four minutes to play.
