Final Score: Bridgewater 5, Catholic 3
Records: Bridgewater 2-1-0, Catholic 2-1-0

How it Happened
  • Catholic found the offense early with a shot before the game was a minute in. The scoring attempt went wide, but the Cardinals stayed on the attack and found the back of the net first as Peyton Coron got the scoring started making it 1-0. Ninety seconds later the Cardinals found the net again as Coron found Sara Placide who buried the shot making it 2-0 for the visitors in the third minute.
  • The Cardinals had another opportunity, but a diving save from Carlee Gaboury kept it just a two-goal game. After the stop, Bridgewater looked to turn the tide and earned a free kick in the 13th minute. No shots came off the chance, but after a failed clearing chance Laura Narby chipped a shot up and over the outstretched arms of Maeve Graham to get the Eagles on the board. Catholic wasted no time as the Cardinals registered two shots including a shot on goal that was turned aside by Gaboury in the minutes following the score. Minutes later, the third chance found nylon for Catholic making it 3-1 for the visitors after Jordan Siok found the back of the net.
  • Madeline Bohan subbed in for BC in the 28th minute and instantly made an impact. The senior was attempting to dribble in the box where she was taken down resulting in a foul and a penalty kick for Bridgewater. Alicia Keo got the attempt and put it home closing the Eagles back down to just a goal with 17 minutes to go in the half. Both teams had chances down the stretch at the end of the first half, but neither side budged.
  • The Eagles looked to shift the momentum to start the second frame as Keo registered a shot on net just over a minute in, but Graham made the stop. Off a free kick Carley Piller kept the offensive onslaught going with another shot on goal and yet again Graham made the play. The Eagles had another chance with a long throw in nearing the 60-minute mark. Lyric Birkley hurled the ball towards the crease where Skyler Daum got a head on it and deflected it to Narby and the freshman put her head to it as well and it found the back of the net evening the game at 3-3.
  • Bridgewater continued to keep the pressure rolling with multiple shots and the relentless pressure led to a dangerous chance in front. The Eagles sent a ball in the box, and it got deflected a few times before a Catholic defender tapped it with her hand resulting in another PK. Keo took it again and this time it was turned away by Madelyn Catania. After the save rolled out of the play the Eagles got another chance on a corner kick. On their only attempt of the day, Keo sent a ball into the box and Birkley headed it into the back of the net giving Bridgewater its first lead of the afternoon. Six minutes later Madison Ferrone took a free kick for BC from near midfield. The captain sent in a high pass and Birkley found the back of the net again to add on the insurance goal with seven minutes to go. Catholic got two shots on target in the final three minutes, but Gaboury scooped up both attempts to help the Eagles hold on.
