BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to No. 22 Washington and Lee on Tuesday afternoon 7-2 at the Mapp-Whitelow Tennis Courts.
WLU took the opening two doubles matches, but not without a fight at the No. 2 spot.
Grace Knighton and
Malena Hoover took the opening game, but fell 8-3.
After picking up the forfeit win at No. 3 doubles, the match moved to singles play.
Ryan Roeber traded service breaks at the No. 5 spot until late in the first set where Karolina Moss was able to close the frame out and take the match 4-6, 2-6.Â
Knighton was in the midst of a tight battle at the No. 4 spot but was forced to retire due to injury while on serve in the opening set.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday as they make the long trip down to Guilford to battle the Quakers at 1 p.m.
