How it HappenedÂ
- The Eagles applied early pressure as Hannah England fired a shot just three minutes in that went wide of the cage. Laura Narby had chance less than a minute later, but it was blocked. BC continued the barrage of shots as both Narby, Lyric Birkley and Hannah Nugent put a shot on frame, but Ady Franken made a save on each attempt.
- Guilford finally got the offense going after eight early shots from BC. The attempt missed wide, and Bridgewater went right back to work as a free kick allowed for another chance from Nugent that missed the crease. Another free kick gave BC a chance and Narby had a good look, but a leaping Franken pushed the shot over the cross bar. BC had more chances throughout the half including at the horn as a cross sent into the box from Anna Zurlo found the head of Skyler Daum and her shot just missed the upper 90 as time expired.
- Nugent got the offense going in the second half and forced another diving save from Franken to give BC another corner kick. Birkley attempted to volley the pass in but missed the target. Guilford flipped the field after the goal kick that followed. Crystal Rivas had a look from beyond the box but missed it high and wide. After the goal kick Guilford kept the pressure up and it paid off with a corner kick. Olivia Santos sent the kick in and it deflected off of a BC defender and Bayle Greenwood scooped up the change and put it in the back of the net past the screened Eagle's goalkeeper making it 1-0with 34 minutes to play.
- Bridgewater looked to bounce back and a chance from Zoe Webster was mere inches from changing the outlook of the game as it caught the post after it had beaten the diving Franken. A wild sequence saw shots on frame from Daum and Endgland but again Franken came up with saves.
- BC adjusted in the final minutes and had chances because of them as both Daum and Narby fired shots on target and again Franken made the saves to close it out.
