FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team opened up play at the ITA Southeast Regional on Friday.
The Eagles entered three doubles teams and two singles entrants into the regional event featuring schools from across three states.
In doubles action
Grace Knighton and
Malena Hoover opened the morning session but came up short against a duo from new ODAC foe Averett 3-8.
Ryan Roeber and
Emma Nesselrodt followed up with a 2-8 loss to a tough team from Salisbury. In the Blue D draw
Emily Daigneault and
Emily Wylie opened their weekend with a 3-8 loss to Caro/Simhambhalta. All three teams will be back in action tomorrow morning in consolation round action.
In singles action Nesselrodt fell in a tight 4-8 proset to the top seed in the Blue D draw Sarah Cooper of Salisbury. Hoover was the only other Eagle in singles action. The senior fell to another Cougarof Averett 2-8. Both Hoover and Nesselrodt will play in consolation action tomorrow as well.
