BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 wi n over Regent on Thursday to open the season.

How It Happened
- Bridgewater had one of the first big chances of the game as Trevon Pillips drew a penalty kick in the ninth minute. Austin Stevens stepped up for Regent to keep the game scoreless
- BC went on to dominate the rest of the half out shooting the Royals 5-2
- Regent found the scoreboard first early in the second half as David Rowe found the back of the net to put the Royals on top 1-0.
- In the 62nd minute David Quintanilla connected with Lestath Savage who found the back of the net to draw the game even.
- About 16 minutes later the Eagles had a series of corner kicks resulting in constant pressure leading to another goal yet again by Savage.
- Regent did not tally a shot from that point on leading to a 2-1 BC victory

- Savage nets two goals for BC taking his career tally to three.
- Austin Stephens had a busy night in the cage for Regent tallying seven saves on nine shots on goal.
- Tyler Deutsch gets the win in net only facing two shots all game.
- Bridgewater dominated many of the team stats in this one including a 17-4 advantage in shots and a 5-0 advantage on corner kicks.
