Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team picked up a hard fought 5-4 win over Brevard College on Friday to end its spring break trip.
The Eagles took two of the three doubles matches to go up 2-1 before singles play.
Malena Hoover and Rachel Crawford teamed up for an 8-3 win at the top spot.
Ryan Roeber and Emily Daigneault picked up an 8-1 win to round out doubles action.
Hoover and Crawford both picked up key wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in thrilling fashion.
Hoover dropped the opening set 2-6 and rallied, picking up the second set in a tiebreak 7-6. The junior had to battle in the breaker taking it 10-8 to pick up the win at the top spot.
Crawford won the opening set 6-4 but dropped the second in a tight tiebreaker 6-7(6). The tiebreak to decide the match was all BC as Crawford took it 10-2.
Grace Knighton followed and clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 6 spot.
Bridgewater will be back in action on March 11 as they travel to Randolph Macon. Action is set for 3:30 p.m.
