Marlins Edge Out Eagles

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team dropped a tight match to Virginia Wesleyan losing 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon in ODAC action.

The Marlins opened up play by taking two of the doubles matches. Bridgewater's lone point came at the No. 3 spot where senior Emily Daigneault and sophomore Ryan Roeber teamed up for an 8-1 victory. 

The bottom half of the ladder proved to be the strength for the Eagles as they swept the four, five and six spots.

Junior Emma Nesselrodt picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 4 spot. Roeber picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot. Freshman Grace Knighton added the Eagles final win at the No. 6 spot with a 6-0, 6-2 victory.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, April 1 as they travel to Roanoke for a 3:30 p.m. date with the Maroons.
