BRIDGEWATER, Va. –
Skyler Daum netted two goals in the Bridgewater College women's soccer team's 2-0 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday.

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets had the first opportunity of the game just two minutes in with two shots in the second minute but did not put either one on frame. BC had an early chance of their own on a corner kick in the fifth minute and Madison Ferrone got a shot off but it was turned away by Abby Cook.
- In the 30th minute Bridgewater made a run. Hanna Randolph got a shot off but it was blocked and went out of play resulting in a corner kick. Off of he corner, Kaia Richardson headed a shot but it was kept away by a defender. Daum took the rebound and buried it breaking the scoreless tie at 1-0.
- Cook's busy afternoon in the crease continued in the second half as another bang bang play led to shots by Randolph and Alicia Keo, but both were stopped by Cook.
- In the 77th minute the Eagles made a run and Daum did it her self. The junior settled just outside the box and had a massive shooting lane and shot to the opposite corner of the crease. The ball found nylon to put Bridgewater ahead 2-0 in the closing stages.
- The Yellow Jackets had one last opportunity in the 82nd minute on a corner kick but Sammie Hoefs' shot sailed over the cross bar. From that point on BC did not let up the pressure as Keo and Randolph both got shots off in the final minutes not allowing for a R-MC attack.
Match Notes
- Daum scored twice in the win and Richardson added an assist for BC.
- Both teams saw tremendous performances in the crease. Cook turned away 11 of the shots she faced in the game and both Carlee Gaboury and Megan Byle added a save with lots of high soccer IQ plays as well.
- Bridgewater held a 22-11 edge in total shots and a 14-2 edge in shots on goal.
- BC held a 8-2 advantage in corner kicks with Randolph-Macon having just one in each half.
- This is Bridgewater's eighth shutout on the year and is also their seventh in eight games. The stretch is the second best in program history and is the longest since 2014 where they did not allow a goal in eight our of nine.
