HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Bridgewater College field hockey team dropped a heartbreaker to Eastern Mennonite on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles wasted no time in the offensive half as BC got off a pair of shots inside the game's first four minutes.
- After a penalty corner and a goalie change for EMU, Bridgewater was awarded a penalty stroke, which was sent wide of the cage. Less than two minutes later, the Eagles found the back of the net with a goal off the stick of Kylie Amberger. She got an assist from Jade Buckles, 1-0.
- The 1-0 lead held until the end of the first quarter, but EMU struck five minutes into the second period. Elizabeth Longacre beat the BC goalie to notch the game at 1-1.Â
- Near the end of the half, the Royals took the lead with Brandy Troutman's sixth score of the season, which sent EMU to half up 2-1.
- Bridgewater was awarded a corner halfway into the third quarter and took advantage as Amora Marchand tied the game at 2-2.
- The game remained deadlocked at 2-2 until the final seconds of the game as the Royals were awarded a penalty stroke which Troutman put in the net with 44 seconds remaining in the game to give EMU the win.
MATCH FACTS
- Amberger and Marchand scored for the Eagles, while Buckles registered an assist in the loss.Â
- Amberger finished the game with a team-high six shots with four of those finding the target.Â
- Madalyn Miller played all 60 minutes and stopped three shots, while Ann Ghally made five saves in the win. Marie Wilson entered the contest for the penalty stroke, but did not face a shot on target.
- As a team, both sides finished with 12 shots, while EMU held a 7-5 edge in penalty corner opportunies.
