HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first shot of the game found the back of the net. James Yeboah took a free kick for BC and booted it towards the box where Josh Gilliam deflected it towards Shelor. Shelor dribbled in and fired across the goal mouth and found nylon putting the Eagles in front just three minutes in 1-0.
  • Randolph had multiple chances after two early yellow cards on the Eagles. Noah Carney got the first opportunity for the WildCats but it was turned aside by a deflection from Gilliam. After the second card Randolph had multiple chances, Brian Kuhl had the first shot in the exchange that was turned away by Charles Schweinefuss. Off of the rebound the WildCats fired a shot but it was deflected on its path leading to a corner kick. Randolph got back-to-back shots again but a Schweinefuss save and a shot out of bounds gave it back to BC on a goal kick.
  • In the 48th minute Randolph evened the contest. The WildCats had a throw-in and went for the long option in the midfield. Colby Lambert's pass was picked up by Ashton Poythress who found the back of the net to knot the game.
  • Randolph had a corner kick in the 52nd minute and got two shots off but Schweienefuss stood tall in his crease and turned away the opportunity for the WildCats
  • In the 55th minute a long pass found its way to Pearce Lowery who was able to deflect it with his head just enough for it to make its way to Shelor. The senior fired and found the back of the net for the second time to put BC in front 2-1.
  • The WildCats turned the pressure on in the closing stages getting four shots off in the final 20 minutes. Two made their way on goal but were turned away by Schweienefuss and a defensive stop by Lowery.

MATCH NOTES

  • Shelor led all players with four shots in the contest and all were on goal. Alex Martinez was the only other Eagle with a shot in the contest.
