Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Eagles Finish Regular Season with 7-0 Win

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater women's soccer team won their program record ninth conference game of the season with a 7-0 win over Randolph on Saturday.

Records: Bridgewater 13-4-0 (9-1-0 ODAC), Randolph 6-7-3 (2-7-1 ODAC)
 
How It Happened
  • The Eagles applied pressure early with Skyler Daum, Hanna Rndolph and Katelyn Seagraves all getting shots off but none on target. Just before the 20 minute mark, Daum put BC on the board off of a pass from Seagraves making it 1-0.
  • BC added two quick goals near the 40th minute. Lyric Birkley fired a shot on frame that was saved and her rebound dropped to Kendall Garza who found the back of the net. Two minutes later Birkley found the back of the net off of a pass from Madison Crooks to make it 3-0 heading into the half.
  • 68 seconds into the second half Crooks got in on the scoring party off of a pass from Ashley Sabatino to make it 4-0 BC. 
  • In the 51st minute BC had a corner kick. Daum got a sho off but it was blocked. Garza grabbed the rebound and found he back of the net again for her second goal of the game. Six minutes later Randolph and Megan Palm combined to find Crooks who scored her second goal of the game to make it 6-0 for the Eagles.
  • Birkley added the seventh goal for the Eagles as Crooks added her second helper on the day in the 61st minute.  
Match Notes
  • Crooks scored twice and added two assists for the most points she has scored in a game in her career with six. Garza and Birkley also added multi goal games for the Eagles.
  • Both Carlee Gaboury and Megan Byle saw action in goal for BC with Gaboury facing the only shot on goal. Maddie Friel made seven saves for the WildCats. 
  • BC out shot Randolph 25-1 including 15-1 in shots on goal.
  • The Eagles held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks as well.
  • With the win the Eagles finish 9-1 in ODAC play for the first time in program history.
