HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter came and went without a score, but it wasn't without chances from the Eagles. BC had nine penalty corners and fired off nine shots in the opening 15 minutes but were not able to scratch one past the Ferrum goalie.
  • Ferrum got its first shot on goal a few minutes into the second quarter and got on the board to take a 1-0 lead. Bridgewater took control of the changes for the remainder of the half until Daphne Daymude pushed one into the net to tie the contest off an assist by Rachel Fitzpatrick, 1-1. The score held to the recess.
  • Daymude added to the score and pushed the Eagles in front four and a half minutes into the third quarter, this time with an assist from Carynn Klingler. Daymude wasn't done as she scored again to record her second hat trick in as many games with another helper from Klingler to make the scoreline 3-1 Kylie Amberger scored one second before the end of the third period to give BC a 4-1 edge, which stayed true through the end of the contest.
