BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Bridgewater College field hockey team closed out the regular season on Senior Day against No. 18 Washington and Lee at the Jopson Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Final Score: Washington and Lee 3, Bridgewater 0
Records: Bridgewater 6-9, 3-5; Washington and Lee 14-2, 7-1 ODAC

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first period of play went by without much action as the game remained scoreless. The Eagles did have a close chance coming off a penalty corner as Carynn Klingler's shot was stopped by a defender before crossing the goal line.
• WLU added two scored in the second quarter from Alexis Parks and Peyton Tysinger to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
• The Generals put another one in the net in the third as Betty Boatwright found a lose ball near the cage and put it in, 3-0. BC had another chance in the third as Daphne Daymude's shot was kicked aside by the WLU goalie.
• Washington and Lee commanded the final quarter and walked away with a 3-0 win.

MATCH FACTS

• The Eagles honored its seniors before the game as Meghan Bailey, Kelli Mullen and Meredyth Rankin were all recognized pregame. 
• The Eagles were held to two shots in the game but both were on target. 
• Madalyn Miller made five saves in the loss, while Harley Hoffman played the second half and stopped three shots. Abby Long made one save in the win.
