How It Happened
- Bridgewater had the first chance 90 seconds in as Ashley Sabatino fired a shot but her chance was denied by Jade Lecklider.
- The Hornets had two quick corner kicks around the 20th minute. Lynchburg got twp shots off but none made it on frame as one went wide and the other was blocked by a Bridgewater defender.
- In the 58th minute Lindsey Grady had a great look for the Hornets but clanked her shot off of the crossbar. Just over two minutes later Skyler Daum had a good look of her own and oddly enough also found metal as her shot hit the crossbar and went out of play.
- Lynchburg had another chance in the 71st minute off of a free kick. Sydney Dumbrovskis got a shot off but Carlee Gaboury stepped up for the save to keep the game scoreless.
- In the 76th minute Kendall Garza used her hustle to get her a shot in the box but the save was made by Lecklider. Off of the ensuing failed clear, BC had another chance. Kaia Richardson dribbled up the sideline just outside of the box and sent a pass across the box. Lyric Birkley attempted a bicycle kick and got enough of it to set it up for Seagraves who headed the ball to the far side of the crease just out of the reach of Lecklider to give Bridgewater the 1-0 advantage.
- Lynchburg increased the intensity after the goal outshooting Bridgewater 5-0 from then on. Gaboury and the Bridgewater defense did their job as the Eagles deflected one and the junior keeper made two stops in the closing stages.
