CLERMONT, Fla. - The Bridgewater College softball team opened up their week long Florida trip by defeating Franklin 9-0 before falling to Aurora 9-4.

Game One: BC 9, Franklin 0

The Eagles got on the board first in the second inning on an Avery Pinder RBI single to send Torie Shifflett home. Katrina Martin added three more Eagle runs on a 3 RBI double to center field to make it 4-0 Eagles.

Stephanie Carroll hit an RBI on a single to center field as Sarah Wimer crossed home for a 5-0 lead.

Bridgewater brought the power in the fourth inning and added four more runs to their total on a Torie Shifflett sacrifice fly RBI, a Keristen Kennedy RBI single, a bases loaded walk, and a Pinder RBI single.

17 Eagles saw time in the game. Martin, Wimer and Pinder all had two hits for Eagles while Martin added three RBIs. 

Brantley Swift pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and no runs. 

Game Two: BC 4, Aurora 9

After giving up nine runs in the first four innings, Bridgewater got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on a Shifflett 2 RBI triple to score Martin and Wimer. Shifflett crossed on a Carroll RBI single to make 9-3.

The Eagles added one more run in the sixth after Carroll hit another RBI single. Bridgewater, however, could not complete the comeback and ultimately fell 9-4. 

Shifflett and Carroll each had two hits and two RBIs for Bridgewater. Brooke Louden pitched one inning while Swift pitched the remaing five.

Bridgewater returns for two more games tomorrow against Adrian and Ohio Northern.
