LOUISVILLE, Ky. -
Caroline Malandra has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-America Third Team, the coaches association announced on Wednesday.
Malandra was named to the third team at second base after starting 41 games there for BC in her junior season. The Keystone State native led the Eagles in batting average (.387), doubles (15), home runs (eight) and RBI (33) while batting in the leadoff spot for most of the season.
On top of that, Malandra was among the conference leaders in those same categories, including ranking third in total bases, triples and slugging. Her .766 slugging percentage and 20 stolen bases also ranked as the seventh most in a single season in program history, while she also added an impressive 1.235 OPS on the year.Â
Malandra is the sixth All-American in program history, the first since Emily Morris was named to the third team in 2010.Â
