Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, N.C. – After falling in the opener, the Bridgewater Eagles softball team led in the nightcap and senior Brea Hinegardner ripped two home runs, but the Eagles couldn't hold off one of the league's top hitting teams in a doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Guilford Quakers on Wednesday evening.

In game one, the Eagles bats were silenced at the plate while Guilford (24-12, 9-9 ODAC) took advantage of a long ball and a wild pitch to run away with a 4-0 victory.

Hayes led the inning off with a walk prior to Wilcox blasting a ball over the left-field fence to tie the contest up at a 2-2 tally. Later in the inning, Casey Snead singled through the right side to score Taylor Boyd, building a 3-2 Quakers advantage.
Guilford shut the Eagles down at the plate in the second and added three more runs in the bottom half of the second to run out to a 6-2 advantage. Hayes then scored on a wild pitch for a 4-2 Guilford lead prior to Wilcox scoring on a Rachel Howard single to build a 5-2 lead for the Quakers.
