HILTON HEAD, S.C. – In the team's second match of its Spring Break trip, the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team blanked Defiance College by a 9-0 score.

In doubles play, the Eagles changed up the mix, with Brad DeWitt and Teddy Callow claiming an 8-6 triumph at number one.

At number two doubles, Peter Hawkins and Brent Floyd were 8-1 winners, before the duo of Tim Gower and Matthew Chaulkin picked up an 8-6 victory at number three to put the Eagles up 3-0 after doubles action.

Hawkins kept things rolling with a 6-4, 6-4 win at number one, while DeWitt earned a solid 6-2, 6-1 victory at number two.

Callow and Floyd posted easy 6-0, 6-0 victories at number three and four, before Gower notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at number five.

At number six, Chaulkin claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win as the Eagles swept singles play, giving Bridgewater a 9-0 victory.

The Eagles are back in action tomorrow, Thursday, March 10 when they wrap up their Spring Break trip with a showdown with Elizabethtown. Action opens on the hard courts at 3:00 p.m.
