Box Score 2 CARLISLE, Pa. - Bridgewater College opened play
at the Dickinson volleyball tournament Friday with a pair of
three-game victories over Allegheny and Dickinson. The Eagles
defeated Allegheny in the opener 25-18, 25-12, 25-14 and then swept
Dickinson 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.
Lindsay Kallam (Virginia Beach,
Va./Princess Anne) had a huge match for the Eagles against
Allegheny, finishing with a team-high 30 assists and five aces. She
also added 13 digs. Ashley Scott
(South Riding, Va./Heritage) put down 13 kills and added 10 digs
while Casey
O'Leary (Quinton, Va./New Kent) led the team in digs with
15.
"We played a great match," Eagles head coach Greg Spector said.
"Lindsay Kallam and Ashley Scott both recorded the first
double-doubles of their careers. We played together and the
starting squad is starting to come together."
The Eagles put forth another solid effort in the sweep over
Dickinson.
Scott led the team in kills with 11 and digs with 10. Kai-Lynn Stoker
(Potomac Md./Jack Britt) recorded three aces and Katie Baker
(Strasburg, Va./Strasburg) finished with three blocks. Kallam added
25 assists.
"Ashley put together back-to-back double-doubles. Today went
well but Saturday will prove to be more intense with a step up in
level of play and we will need to bring another gear," said
Spector.
Saturday, the Eagles will meet Elizabethtown and York.
