Softball wins two against Methodist

Bridgewater College improved to 8-0 on the season with a doubleheader sweep over Methodist at Myrtle Beach. The Eagles won the first game Wednesday 8-0 and took the second game 6-1.

In the opener freshman Summer Ramsey pitched a complete-game, five-inning shutout for the Eagles. She allowed just four hits while striking out four and not walking a batter.

Kaitlyn Bowman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Lauren Childress was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Becky Schmidt went the distance in the second game to pick up the victory. She allowed one run on four hits while striking out two. She did not walk a batter.

Bowman was 2-for-4, including a homer and two RBIs. Emily Morris was 2-for-3, Childress was 2-for-2 and Leah Cossentino was 3-for-3 in the second game.
