Bridgewater College women's basketball team's head coach Stephanie Flamini has announced the addition of Tia Byrd to the staff as the assistant coach. 

Byrd recently spent a year at Randolph College for the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach. 

Additionally, Byrd was assistant coach at TPLS Christian Academy in Richmond in 2022-23. For two years, Byrd was the varsity basketball coach at King and Queen Central High School in King and Queen Court House, Va.  

Byrd also played basketball for EMU (Eastern Mennonite University) from 2014-15 and Frederick Community College in the 2015-16 season.  

Byrd graduated from Virginia State University and earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 2019. Later, Byrd received her master's from Virginia State in sport management in 2022.
