Bridgewater College Director of Athletics Curt Kendall has announced the hiring of Colton Frey as the College's first men's volleyball head coach—the next phase in the launch of the new sports team at BC.
 
Frey comes to Bridgewater after most recently serving as the head coach of the Broadway High School volleyball program for the last two seasons and brings in collegiate coaching experience after serving as an assistant coach at EMU for two years.
 
"I am so excited to have an opportunity to build a program as a part of an athletics department with such a tradition of excellence," said Frey. "The community at BC is an incredible place to compete, and I am ready to get started building yet another winning program here."
 
In two seasons with the Gobblers, Frey totaled 18 victories including winning four of the squad's last five games last season.
 
"We are excited to have Colton join our staff and lead our men's volleyball program," said Director of Athletics Curt Kendall. "He brings in an energetic and passionate attitude that will allow us to build our men's volleyball program."
 
Frey is a 2018 graduate of EMU where he was named to the CVC All-Academic Team four times and a was a piece of a Royals squad that was nationally ranked for two seasons. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from EMU and later attained his graduate degree in Teacher Leadership from James Madison University in 2022.
 
The Bridgewater men's volleyball program will begin play in the 2025-26 academic year and will become the department's 25th intercollegiate sport.
