Jordon Robinson enters his eleventh season as head men's and women's tennis coach at Bridgewater College.

The women's squad made a return to the ODAC Tournament in the 2024 season while the men's squad improved from 2023 as well. BC added five CSC Academic All-District selections to make it 11 over the last two seasons, the most in program history.

The 2023 season saw the Eagles grab six CSC Academic All-District accolades between the men's and women's teams for the first time in program history.

Once again both teams made the ODAC postseason in 2022. The women fell in the quarterfinal round while the men advanced to the semifinal round for the first time since 2017. Secord was named ODAC Player of the Year for the third time in as many seasons as the award was given.

Both Bridgewater teams made the ODAC postseason in 2020-21, with the men winning a first round match vs. Emory & Henry. Canon Secord was named first team All-State for the third time and ODAC Player of the Year for the second time, Matthew Gordon was the men's ODAC Scholar-Athlete, and a combined five Eagles earned All-ODAC recognition.

The 2018-19 season was highlighted by men's freshman Canon Secord winning both ODAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. The women went 9-9 overall. The 2018-19 State Player and Rookie of the Year repeated as first team All-State in 2019-20, while Whitney Kiser reached 100 career victories on the women's side.

The 2017-18 men's and women's teams combined for five All-ODAC selections, with each squad placing one player on the All-State team.

In 2016-17, Robinson earned his first ODAC Coach of the Year honor, on the men’s side after leading the Eagles to a second place regular season finish, which equaled the best conference finish in program history.

Both Eagle teams reached the ODAC semifinals in Robinson's first season, losing to eventual champion Washington & Lee on both the men's and women's side. The men earned an ITA Regional ranking, as did women's #1 singles player Maria Hawkins. Christian Lynn was also named to the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team.

Robinson is no stranger to Bridgewater College after serving as an assistant coach during the 2010-11 tennis seasons for the men and the women. During his time with the Eagles, the men posted a 14-7 overall record and earned a trip to the semifinal round of the ODAC tournament. Bridgewater’s women also earned a trip to the semifinals and posted a 15-4 overall record on the year.

Prior to taking the head coaching position with the Eagles, Robinson was the assistant men’s tennis coach at Division I James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. A native of Woodstock, Va., Robinson came to Harrisonburg following two seasons as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s teams at Ferrum College.

Under Robinson, the Ferrum men’s team qualified for the USA South Tournament twice and produced four Academic All-Conference honorees. Robinson took four men to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regionals at the University of Mary Washington in October 2012. It was the first time in over 15 years that Ferrum made an appearance in an ITA Regional.

During his two years with the women’s team at Ferrum, he led the Panthers to the conference tournament once and had five players earn Academic All-Conference honors. The 2012-13 team posted six wins, its most in five years.

Before his time at the collegiate level, Robinson was the girls’ tennis coach at Central High School in Woodstock, Va. and served a year as the assistant tennis pro at Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, Va.

Robinson played collegiately at King College from 2004-06, earning Academic All-Conference both seasons. He finished his degree at James Madison in 2009, earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
