Bobby Humphrey is returning to Bridgewater College after serving as a head high school coach during the spring of 2022 and 2023.  Previously, he served as catching coach at Bridgewater from 2018-2021.  

Coach Humphrey’s 22 years of experience includes coaching both baseball and softball, from youth levels through college.  He has been lead catching instructor at camps throughout the country and spent time at Southern Virginia University, where he was assistant baseball coach and worked with the team’s catchers.  Humphrey has also coached several travel teams, including showcase teams based out of Boise, Idaho and Traverse City, Michigan. 

In addition to his coaching experience, Humphrey has been an Associate Scout since 2009, working with the New York Mets for 11 years, and is currently with the Philadelphia Phillies.  He has published two books, one on hitting and one on catching.

Humphrey lives with his wonderful wife, Kendra, in Staunton.  He is a fifth grade teacher in Augusta County Public Schools.
