Lynn Walsh

Lynn Walsh joined the Bridgewater College athletic department in 2018 as part of an NCAA Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grant. She was promoted to Associate Director of Athletic Media Relations in July 2021 before assuming the title of Director of Athletic Media Relations in September 2021. 

As Director of Athletic Media Relations, she is the primary contact for men's and women's basketball, outdoor track & field, volleyball and softball. She is responsible for maintaining the athletic website, game day operations, designing print publications, coordinating video production and photography for the athletic department, operating social media pages and overseeing student interns. She is also the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor. 

She has attended the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, the NCAA/Women Leaders in College Sports Women's Leadership Symposium, Women Leaders in College Sports Institute for Administrative Advancement and served as an in-game promotions team member at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse National Championship. Walsh is a member of the CoSIDA Young Professionals Committee and serves as the Athletic Communications Circle Lead for Women Leaders in College Sports. She also serves on the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Region III Selection Committee.

Walsh was a student-athlete in the ODAC, playing four years of volleyball at Lynchburg. A team captain as a junior and senior, she graduated fourth all-time in program history with 1,929 assists. She also led the team in service aces in her final season.

She interned with Lynchburg Hornet Sports Network (LHSN), including working as a sideline reporter and hosting a “Walsh Wednesday” video interview series, along with operating cameras, sound/lighting and editing equipment for the department. She also assisted the Sports Information department, primarily with social media.

Walsh was a writer and video producer for The Critograph student newspaper, and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.).

Walsh has also been a communications intern with Freedom 4/24 and Maryland Public Television.

A Maryland native, she graduated magna cum laude from Lynchburg in 2018 with a degree in communication studies with a convergent journalism emphasis. She earned highest honors in communication studies, completed the Westover Honors Program, and received the Woody Greenberg Award for excellence in journalism and public relations. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport management from Georgia Southern University.
