Andrew Darby

Andrew Darby will be supporting the Bridgewater College men’s and women’s tennis programs this year, serving as the team’s Mental Performance Consultant. In this role, he provides both group and individual consultations designed to support our athletes with the mental side of their athletic development. He also works directly with the head coach to ensure the team’s culture and training environment promote holistic athletic development and well-being.

As a former NCAA Division I tennis player, Andrew understands firsthand the challenges student-athletes face and is dedicated to helping them thrive both on and off the court. He brings nine years of coaching experience with a focus on high-performance player development, having worked with NCAA Division I, II, and III athletes, as well as players competing in premier international junior tournaments and on the professional circuit, including Little Mo, Orange Bowl, Eddie Herr, Le Petit As, ATP and WTA events, ITF Junior World Tennis Tour, and the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

Andrew holds a B.A. in Psychology from The Citadel and both an M.Ed. and Ed.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Applied Sport Psychology from the University of Western States as part of his preparation for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential, the gold standard in sport psychology training. Beyond Bridgewater, Andrew has supported organizations including Clemson University, Furman University, The Citadel, the Junior Tennis Champions Center, and Haviland Tennis Academy.
