Biography

2018: Third-team All-ODAC...Saw action in 38 games...led Eagles with a .388 batting average...finished with 54 hits, six doubles, six homers and 23 RBIs...tied for team lead in runs scored with 34.

2017: finished season with .252 average...had eight multi-hit games...closed season going 5-for-9 in doubleheader vs. Marymount.

2016: Starting second baseman for most of the season...hit for a .315 average...finished season with nine doubles, a triple and one homer...drove in 22 runs...named to D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week (3/22/16)...had back-to-back three-hit games vs. Va. Wesleyan and EMU.

2015: Played in 36 games...finished season with 31 hits and a .225 batting average...hit first career homer vs. Stevenson...led team in stolen bases with seven...had 10 multi-hit games as a freshman...had first three-hit game with a 3-for-5 day at the plate vs. Randolph-Macon...named to D3baseball National Team of the Week on March 10 after hitting for a .412 average in four games.

High School: Team won three regional titles and one state title during his career and posted a 65-6 record...first team all-district and all-region.

Personal: Son of John Batten and Rhonda Batten...brother Mitchell.
