NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's track and field team spent their Sunday afternoon competing at the Vince Brown Invitational, hosted by Christopher Newport University.
Malia Stewart opened the afternoon for the Eagles as the lone BC entry in the women's 60-meter hurdles preliminaries. Stewart clocked 10.04, placing 11th.
Elizabeth Ramos and Lilly Goldbeck competed in the women's weight throw. Ramos placed third, recording her best throw of 13.29 meters on her final attempt. Goldbeck threw for a best 9.38 meters on her third attempt.
Megan Walter and Jai Johnson competed in the women's 60-meter dash. Walter clocked 8.45, and Johnson clocked 8.51.
Destiny Joseph raced in the women's 400-meter later in the afternoon. In her first appearance on the track this season, Joseph clocked 1:15.34.
BC placed four entries in the women's 200-meter dash. Walter led the Eagles with a 27.94 dash. Stewart placed inside the top-20, crossing the line at 28.86 seconds. Johnson clocked 29.96, and Joseph clocked 30.69.
Ramos and Goldbeck concluded the meet for the Eagles by competing in the women;s shot put. Ramos placed eighth with a top throw of 9.57 meters. Goldbeck's best throw was 6.29 meters.
The Eagles will compete in the Joe LaRocco Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14. This is the penultimate indoor meet for the Eagles before the ODAC Championship meet.
