Penn Laird, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's track and field team hosted and competed in the Rockingham Collegiate Classic on Friday. This was the last home meet of the indoor season before the ODAC meet. 

Summer Wallace opened the meet for the Eagles by taking the top spot in the women's long jump. Wallace jumped 5.34 meters on her final attempt. Wallace also placed third in the women's high jump after clearing 1.52 meters. 

Senior thrower Brianna Morgan was the top BC finisher in the women's weight throw, placing second with a best throw of 15.07 meters. Junior Abby Mikolay placed fourth with a top throw of 14.21 meters. Mikolay bounced back in shot put, recording a meet-record 13.04-meter throw. 

Maddie Watson and Olivia Crigger qualified for the 60-meter hurdles finals after placing second and fourth, respectively, in the preliminary heats. Crigger clocked 9.27, good for second place in the finals. Watson stopped the clock at 9.32 seconds, placing fourth. 

Senior Jade Buckles recorded the best time of the preliminary heats in the women's 60-meter dash with a 7.77-second dash. Arianna Jones also qualified with an 8.27-second dash in the prelims. Buckles smashed the meet record with a 7.70 sprint in the finals, placing first in the event. Jones placed sixth, clocking 8.22. Jones also placed fifth in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 26.95. 

Megan Walter and Kasi Showers placed fifth and sixth respectively in the women's 400-meter dash. Walter clocked 1:03.80, while Showers crossed the line at 1:04.07. 

The Eagles are set to move on to the indoor post-season, as they compete in the ODAC Championship meet next weekend. The meet is being hosted by Roanoke College, and will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, Mar. 1.
