FERRUM, Va. - The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced Wednesday afternoon Bridgewater College women's lacrosse athlete Paige Mayers to VaSID All-State Second Team.
In the spring, Mayers completed an impressive season after coming away with All-ODAC First Team honors. As a midfielder, Mayers compiled a conference-leading 65 goals as well as 26 assists, 91 total points, 34 ground balls, and 99 draw controls. Throughout the season, the Glen Allen, Va., native was rewriting the record book. Her season total of 99 draw controls marked the second-most in a single season in program history. On top of that, Mayers dropped 12 points in a game, marking the most points recorded in a single game in program history along with averaging the best draw control average per game in a season all-time (6.60).
This achievement marks the first All-State honor for Mayers. Mayers also received her first All-ODAC honor this spring.
