The Eagles fell 20-3 against Roanoke to wrap up the 2025 season.
The Basics
Score: Roanoke (ROA) 20, Bridgewater (BCE) 3
Records: BCE (10-9 OVR, 5-5 ODAC), ROA (12-6 OVR, 8-2 ODAC)
How It Happened
-
Although the Eagles jumped out to an early one goal lead in the first three minutes of action, the Maroons came back with vengeance. Possession controls were dominantly kept to the offensive side for ROA, limiting BCE's chances of attack. Minimal traction after the first goal led to a strong scoring surge for the Maroons leaving the Eagles in search of restraint.
-
With the first goal scored quickly by Kyla Fricks, in the next opening draw control, the Maroons made their first move towards goal to answer right back. Two minutes later, ROA took the lead and from there; never looked back. The Maroons kept the lead the rest of the way in commanding fashion. ROA answered with a five-goal scoring run before Jenna Entsminger cut off the scoring run to close out the opening quarter.
-
The Eagles soon overcompensated with aggressive contact to avoid another large scoring run, but the scoring run soon was reestablished beginning with a man-up advantage in the first minute of the second quarter. The Maroons poured on a seven-goal scoring surge to end the first half up by 10 at 12-2.
-
In the second half, the same dominant play from the Maroons came into view, making any opportunity to start a scoring run very difficult for the Eagles. BCE put in effort to negate potential attacks in the crease and progressed slightly, holding ROA to just two goals in the third.
-
However, the offensive driving force that came from the Maroons was too much to bear. ROA went on another scoring burst to add five more goals in the final quarter. The Eagles did manage to net another goal scored by Taylor Price, but the damage was already done, closing the quarterfinal game at 20-3.
