BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 14 Lynchburg 19-6 on Saturday on Senior Day.

How It Happened
- Lynchburg got on the board first just under a minute in and did not look back. The Hornets dominated the possession and caused multiple turnovers and had a 6-0 lead nearly nine minutes in before BC got the offense going after a Ryan Addison takeaway. Jake Wagner found the back of the net for the Eagles after the successful clear to cut the lead to 6-1. Lynchburg had a solid chance as the period neared a close, but three saves by Zach Guthrie-Pimpinella kept it a 6-1 game after the opening quarter.
- The Hornets stayed on the offensive with two quick goals to open the second quarter, but a takeaway by CJ McKnight gave the BC offense life. The Eagles put four shots on target in the following possession but saves by Andrew Miller and favorable bounces off the cage kept Bridgewater off the board. Lynchburg continued to add to the lead, but BC had chances. Multiple saves by Miller, highlighted by one at the horn. Made it 13-1 for the No. 14 team in the country at the intermission.
- Bridgewater took advantage of a Lynchburg turnover to spark the offense to start the second half. BC set up an offensive chance and ended up on the man-advantage after a Lynchburg penalty. Issac Beals cashed in on the man-up chance and Beals found the back of the net 90 seconds later to cut the lead to 13-3. Lynchburg struck back with a pair of goals in under 20 seconds just north of five minutes to play to stretch the lead back out to 15-3. Lynchburg looked to extend the lead with a man-up chance, but the Eagles forced a turnover and then drew a penalty to take the man-up chance into the fourth.
- BC did not cash in on the man-advantage, but the Eagles struck just inside three minutes into the fourth as Ryan Linn found the back of the net. Lynchburg battled back with three-straight scores to take an 18-4 advantage with 9:47 to play. BC got something going offensively a while later as Beals found the back of the net with seven minutes to play. The Eagles fended off a strong Lynhcburg chance with under five minutes to play, but the Hornets got back on the board to make it 19-5. BC registered on last tally as Drew Huber found the back of the net on a dish from Owen Cogan with 15 seconds to go.
Match Notes
- Beals' hat trick led the BC offense, while Guthrie-Pimpinella made 11 saves on the other end. Addison, McKnight and Nico Marcisano all caused multiple turnovers to anchor the Eagles' defense.
- Riley Hastings had four points, and five different Hornets scored multiple goals. Miller and Eric Allen each made five saves for Lynchburg in the cage.
