How It Happened
Game 1
-
LYN jumped out to a hard-to-reach lead after four innings with a pounding offense. The Hornets struck up a pair of runs in the second and after that continually tacked on more runs, bolstering 20 runs in the fourth inning alone. Cam Nuckols left the bump early after an uncharacteristic outing, and the Eagles could not get anything to ignite a momentum shift.
Game 2
-
The Eagles quickly turned around for game two after a brutalizing struggle in the first part of the twin bill; this time with an energizing start. BCE rolled through the early innings commanding a lead helping to shake off the challenging encounter. The Hornets quickly snuffed out the momentum charge though, and rattled off another monstrous surge of 11 runs in the fourth inning alone, putting the Eagles away safely.
-
In the first inning, Zack Chadwell kickstarted a potential scoring surge with a rocketed two-run double to left center, bringing home Bransen Hensley and Nick Stavros. The Hornets snuffed out the opening points on the board with a pair of runs of their own. The Eagles did not go away though lifting the score to 3-2 in the second inning off a fielding error helping to score Spencer Sigmon. In similar fashion, LYNCH tied it and then added a five-run frame through two innings comfortably taking over the pace and flow of the game. However, the Eagles did attempt an effort to work back into the game putting up a strong five runs in the third inning; but once again, the Hornets did not allow the momentum to shift grabbing two more runs to take a 10-8 lead.
-
Nick Stavros received an RBI single to score Sigmon, but the fight was not strong enough to reclaim the lead. 11 runs came around to score in the fourth to jump out to an enormous 21-9 takeover. The Eagles squeezed out an added run for a solo long ball by Stavros before the game went down as another run rule decision.
