BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to No. 40 Averett 7-0 on Tuesday.

AU opened the match by taking the doubles point as they did not drop a game. 

The Cougars continued to roll in singles play, but felt some resistance. Sarah Slagle got a game and extended some rallies as she fell 0-6, 1-6 at the top spot. Jolexie Whetzel fell 0-6, 2-6 at the No. 2 spot while Emma Staton and Devon Wichael each got games as they fell at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectfully.

BC is back in action on March 19 at Sweet Briar.
