HARVE DE GRACE, Md. - The Bridgewater College women's golf team closed the first round in a tie for fourth at the Battle at Bulle Rock hosted by Alvernia Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Hannah Rizzo led the Eagles with a fourth-place finish in a five-way tie among 31 golfers with an 84 (+12). Rizzo found a solid piece of hitting on hole No. 10 as Rizzo laced a birdie. There were some red numbers through holes 16-18 but Rizzo managed to stay well in the top five of the individual standings for the team.
The next Bridgewater finisher was senior Emily Price. Price saw a 22nd place finish. Closely behind Price was freshman Iyana Smith. Smith took a 24th place finish.
Freshman Addy Sweet finished next for a 27th place finish and to round out the day for the Bridgewater golfers was freshman Sarah Maggi through day one of golf.
The Eagles will return for the second day of action tomorrow, Oct. 15.
