Box Score DANVILLE, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team defeated Averett 65-41 on Friday nigh to remain unbeaten in ODAC play.

(RV) Bridgewater jumped in front early with an 18-8 edge after the opening 10 minutes of play led by nine first quarter points from Jay Garcia. 

The Eagles kept the hammer down in the second as it was seven big points from Jaiden Polston that fueled Bridgewater to a 33-16 lead at the break.

The BC defense showed up in the third quarter as Averett was held without a field goal for the entire third quarter of play. Riley Corcoran led BC offensively in the third stanza as she accounted for five of the Eagles eight points in the frame with BC in front 41-18.

Both teams got the offenses going in the fourth quarter as each side combined for 47 points in the final 10 minutes alone. Eight different Eagles scored during the final period led by Aylin Humpherys' pair of long-range makes as BC held on 65-41.

Garcia and Corcoran led BC with 13 points each while Polston added eight. 

The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday as Roanoke comes to town for a 5 p.m. tip in game one of a BC Basketball Doubleheader.
