Record: Bridgewater 3-4; Allegheny 2-3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started with Pete Schellbach getting the first goal of the game just a minute and 23 seconds into the contest. Following the goal, both teams were pulled from the field as the game went into a lightning delay that lasted just over an hour as an approaching storm passed by. After a few minutes to warm back up, the game resumed. After the game re-started, Schellbach scored his second of the game to put the visitors in front 2-0 at the 6:22 mark before Graham Nash scored from distance to put the Gators up 3-0 after the first quarter of play.
- Grant Nyland got the first score of the game for the Eagles as he cut into the deficit at the 10:12 mark of the second quarter. Not to be outdone, Jack Cushwa netted a goal to give AC a 4-1 edge with just over nine minutes left in the half. Riley Stewart kept the Eagles in it with a goal but Schellbach completed his hat trick three minutes later to set the score at 5-2 with 4:23 left in the half. A goal from Jack Hales at the 2:09 mark and a man-down score from JP Rakis gave Allegheny a 7-2 advantage after the game's first 30 minutes.
- The third quarter was nearly all Bridgewater as the Eagles mounted a comeback spawned by a 5-1 scoring run. Tyler Pinto scored first as he score with 13:21 on the clock followed by a Trevor McClelland goal off a pass from Drew Huber to cut into the lead, 7-4. The Gators got one back as Rakis scored his second to get back to a four-goal edge, but McClelland scored again to make it 8-5. Nyland and McClelland connected before McClelland scored on his own to end the quarter as the Eagles trailed by just one, 8-7.
- The fourth quarter was the reverse as the Gators outscored the home side 5-1 as Aidan D'Amato scored three and Rakis added two more to help Allegheny get in front, 13-7.
