How It Happened
- Bridgewater opened the game with back-to-back buckets from Jaden Alsberry and Riley Corcoran before the Gators got on the board. BC then broke the game open with a 10-0 run with contributions from Jay Garcia, Asia Williams, India Dailey, Corcoran and Alsberry to make it 14-2 with 2:35 to go in the period. NDU stopped the run, but makes from Dailey and Polston in the final minute made it 18-4 after the opening 10 minutes.
- Polston opened the second quarter where ended the first as she sparked seven-straight points for the Eagles to open the frame. BC got ahead 25-4 before NDU got on the board in the second, but BC was back to work as BC put together an 11-3 run to close the half thanks to six points from Garcia down the stretch as the score sat at 36-10 in favor of BC at the break.
- The Gators got the offense rolling in the third quarter as they slowly creeped closer as they outscored the Eagles 22-15 over the opening eight minutes of the third quarter thanks to 11 points from Amya Durham to close back to within twenty. Corcoran made one of two at the charity stripe and a three-pointer from Autimn Gentry pushed got the Eagles back going. NDU added a pair of free throws just before the end of the break to send the game to the fourth quarter at 55-34 with BC in front.
- The BC Defense went to work in the fourth quarter as the Eagles opened the fame on an 11-0 run before the Gators sank a three-pointer for their first field goal in over five minutes. After the lone NDU make from the field in the fourth quarter, BC rolled to another 11-0 run to close the frame with contributions from all over the roster including a My'la green basket with 18 seconds to go to polish off a 77-37 victory.
Match Notes
- Garcia led all scorers with a career-high 19 points including an 8-of-13 effort from the field. Corcoran and Alsberry also crossed double-figures with 14 and 12 points each.
- Alsberry grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Eagles as BC tallied a 57-23 rebound advantage including 25 offensive rebounds.
- The Gators were held to just 24.0% from the floor as Durham led with a team-high 11 points.
- The Eagles' defense had another impressive outing in just the second game of the season as it held another opponent under 40 points and under 25% shooting from the field.
