How It Happened
  • Bridgewater had a chace in the opening minutes as Lyric Birkley fired a shot on frame that was stopped by Ady Franken in the crease for GC. Guilford was able to return th favor a few moments later, but Rylee Asiello made the save to keep things scoreless. BC had a strong opportunity in the seventh minute as Skyler Duam's shot was turned aside, earning a corner kic. Laura Narby rifled a shot on the attempt, but Franken made the stop.
  • Katherine King fired a shot on target in the 32nd minute off of a free kick, but again Franken made the save. Each team had a chance on a corner kick late, but no shots were fired and sent the game to the break tied at 0-0.
  • Guilford struck first in the second half, but a save from Asiello kept the tie intact. Daum returned the favor five minutes later, but her shot nailed the crossbar. Bridgewater had its best chance in the 60th minute as a Narby got in deep and looked to fling a ball on goal but a handball knocked the shot down in the box resulting in a penalty kick. Birkley took the attempt, but a save by Franken kept the game tied.
  • Both teams had chances down the stretch, but the best came late as the Eagles had a pair of corner kicks in the final five minutes, but did not register a shot.
Match Notes
  • Bridgewater's offense saw shots from the usual suspects as Birkley was the only Eagle to fire multiple shots on target. Daum led the team with three total shots.
