How it Happened
  • The Eagles worked quickly as Gavin Kast got a shot off in the opening minute that went wide. Bridgewater continued to look for chances early as Anthony Medrano and Declan Gallagher both got shots on frame, but Matthew Kopsidas turned them aside to keep the game scoreless.
  • St. Mary's first shot on goal found the back of the net. Barret Bridgwater found Zack Glime and Glime buried his shot to give the Seahawks an early 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. After the goal St. Mary's shifted the momentum firing four shots with two of them on frame. Charles Schweinefuss made two saves on the shots on net to keep it a one-goal game.
  • In the 22nd minute Gavin Kast found Riley Queen and the freshman tied the game with his shot to make it 1-1 midway through the opening frame. The Eagles kept the pressure up and had an opportunity on a free kick after a yellow card. Cole Dunbar got a shot off but missed it over the cross bar keeping the game tied. BC put another shot on net during the momentum swing as Queen tried to get his second of the game but again Kopsidas turned it away. BC had a chance late in the frame as Luis Orduna got a shot on frame in the final three minutes, but Zack Reed made the stop to send it to the break tied.
  • St. Mary's had six corner kicks in the opening six minutes of the second half including one off of a penalty kick that was turned aside by Schweinefuss. Bridgewater had a corner of their own a few minutes later but failed to muster a shot on net.
  • Bridgewater made some personnel adjustments after the 66th minute and Lestath Savage made an impact right away. Savage had his first shot blocked and but the rebound on net, but Reed made the stop to keep the game knotted. The two sides traded chances following the save including back-to-back shots that missed the frame from Dunbar and Vincent Marra. In the final three minutes the Eagles went all out to try and take the lead as Justin Scott fired a shot, but it found the crossbar. Scott got another shot on frame and again West made the stop. Scott had one more chance off of the ensuing corner kick, but it was blocked.
