Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team fell to Averett 9-0 on Wednesday evening.

The Cougars swept all three doubles matches despite some scares at the top two spots. Noah Hughes and Matthew Leonard were ahead early at the top spot before falling 3-8 and Mark Gordon teamed with Bryce Cline at the No. 2 spot where the duo had a similar story as they too led early but fell by the same score 3-8.

The best battle in singles action came at the top spot where Leonard fought before dropping the match 2-6, 2-6. Cline also battled for a pair of games in his opening set before falling 2-6, 0-6.

The Eagles are back in action with a pair of important matches next week starting with a clash with Lynchburg at 3 p.m.m on Wednesday.
