WINCHESTER, Va. -- The Bridgewater College men's basketball team rallied for a 63-59 win over Shenandoah in ODAC action on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two sides matched threes to start out the game as both teams traded baskets throughout the game's opening minutes Liam Caswell tallied five-straight points to give the Eagles an 11-10 lead with 15:08 left to go in the first to force the home side to burn a timeout. The Hornets came out of the timeout stretching out a 10-3 run over the next six minutes to take a 20-14 lead with under 10 left in the half. Caswell broke the run with a running jumper followed by a layup from Shod Smith and an Andy Pack jumper to quickly tie the game at 20-20 at the 8:28 point in the first half.
- The Hornets scored the next seven points across 90 seconds to jump ahead 27-20 before a three from Pack and a Smith layup disrupted the run and made it a two-point game once again. The two teams kept trading baskets throughout the last five minutes of the opening frame as the Hornets held on for a 36-30 lead at halftime.Â
- Smith dropped in a layup to start the final 20 minutes before another layup from Caswell cut the deficit down to just two points, 36-34, with 18 minutes left in the game. Both sides exchanged scores before back-to-back layups from Pack tied the game at 40-40, followed by a free throw from Aaron Oates to push BC in front 41-40 with 13:15 on the clock. The Hornets tied the game, but a triple from Alec Topper put the Eagles back in front with under 12 minutes to go.Â
- A pair of baskets from Shenandoah put the home team in front but was immediately followed by a Landon Hawes layup to square the contest up at 47-47. The Eagles pulled in front by four after a Topper jumper to set the score at 51-47 with 5:24 left in regulation before the Hornets bounced back after a Malik Jordan three-pointer to make the score 54-52 with 3:21 on the clock.Â
- Pack made it a four-point game once again with a jumper with exactly three minutes left as BC called a timeout following the make. SU hit on four-straight free throws after the stoppage to tie the game at 56-56 as Smith followed that up with making one-of-two on the line with 1:52 to go in the game. Down the stretch, Kendrick Robinson went to the line and made both shots to once again put the home team in front, but Topper hit a jumper with 27 seconds left in the game to take a 59-58 lead. After a missed jumper from Shenandoah with 16 seconds left, SU fouled Topper to send him to the line as he drilled both free throws to ice the game at 61-58. Pack and Oates each hit free throws in the last 20 seconds as the Eagles held on for a 63-59 victory.
GAME FACTS
- Smith led the Eagles with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, while pulling down four rebounds and dishing out three assists.
- Pack and Topper each recorded 12 points, while Topper finished with 10 rebounds for another double-double. Pack also grabbed six rebounds and went 5-of-5 from the field.Â
- Oates registered seven rebounds to go with four points, while Caswell finished with nine points with five rebounds.
- For the Hornets, Jordan recorded a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting to go with six rebounds. Davion Roberts pitched in 10 points and five rebounds, while Joshua Stephen led the team with seven boards in the loss.
- BC shot 45.1 percent from the field, while SU ended the game at a 32.8 percent clip. The Eagles also won the battle on the glass, 44-30.
