How it Happened
- The WildCats drew first blood just over a minute in as Kylie Stark drilled a three pointer. Riley Corcoran Struck back for the Eagles with the old-school three-point play to knot the game. It was nearly another two minutes before Randolph knocked down another three-ball to pull ahead. A pair of free throws gave the WildCats an 8-3 advantage, but an Alsberry second chance effort got the Eagles back on the board. Another bucket from the senior got BC back to within a point with three minutes to go in the frame but a score from the visitors just north of a minute sent it to the end of the first at a 10-8 RWC edge.
- Randolph extended its lead back out to five two minutes into the second frame, but BC quickly hopped back on the board after a stop as Reagan Maynard drilled a three-point bucket. The WildCats sank one of their own the next trip down the hardwood before the defenses took over as advertised. Both sides were forced into bad shots late in the shot clock before Maynard knocked down another three pointer to end a four-minute scoring drought. Randolph responded on the next trip before India Dailey found Jay Garcia in the mid-range. After another defensive stop, Maynard hit Corcoran in transition and the sophomore executed another three-point play to give BC its first lead at 18-17. RWC quickly responded but the next trip down Garcia shared the wealth to Abby Freeman to put the Eagles ahead 20-19 at the intermission.
- Bridgewater got to work out of the break with a stop and a Freeman bucket on the other end. An Alsberry layup and Freeman free throw allowed BC to open the half on a 5-0 run where Randolph was held scoreless until the 5:41 mark where the WildCats knocked down a three pointer. Another triple from RWC tied the game at 25-25 before Alexis Edmonds knocked down a jumper from the elbow to put BC back in front. The WildCats made a free throw, but a Rosemary Pierson three pointer gave BC a four-point advantage. Jaiden Polston knocked down a pair at the charity stripe to send it to the fourth with BC in front 32-26.
- Abbie Baker ended a near five-minute drought without a Randolph field goal on a second-chance effort, but Corcoran connected with Alsberry to put BC back in front by six. The two teams traded makes but a Freeman and-one layup along with a Pierson long ball gave BC a 42-34 lead. Randolph closed back to within seven before a Dailey three pointer gave Bridgewater its largest lead of the night, 45-35. Randolph responded with a 6-0 run and got back to within four with under a minute to go. Forced to foul, Randolph sent Corcoran to the line as she nailed both tries at the stripe to seal the deal.
