How it HappenedÂ
- Randolph had an opportunity early with a corner kick in the opening five minutes, but the shot missed over the cross bar. The WildCats stayed on the attack and fired a shot on goal and Charles Schweinefuss made the save. BC had its first scoring opportunity on a similar play off of a corner kick. Cole Dunbar put a shot on target and Carter Kelly made the save for Randolph.
- Midway through the frame the home side looked to strike. The WildCats put a shot on goal and once more Schweinefuss made the save, this time on his near post. On the counterattack Trey Widrick got a shot off for BC but missed it wide of the crease on the far side keeping the game scoreless. A dangerous free kick for the Eagles resulted in a shot from Les Savage but it went wide of the cage sending the two side to the break scoreless.
- Widrick and Dunbar got the offense going in the second half in the opening two minutes as each side fired a shot, but neither were on goal. Randolph responded by breaking the scoreless knot as Tucker Leverone found the top left corner for the strike to put the WildCats ahead 1-0.
- After a lengthy delay the Eagles offense came out re-energized. Noa Denno and Widrick each got shots on goal, but Kelly kept the home side in front with a pair of saves. Denno had another chance and once more Kelly shut the door in the 64th minute. Riley Queen got in on the offense and again Kelly made a save. Widrick had a chance on the rebound but a WildCat deflected it away from the open net.
- The pressure finally caved as Dunbar found Queen open in the box and the freshman buried his shot to tie the game with under 10 minutes remaining. In need of a win, the Eagles cranked up the pressure. Dunbar had a chance in the 82nd minute and went for the chip but Kelly got a piece of it. Both teams had a scoring opportunity in the final two minutes as a Schweinefuss save allowed his team to flip the field but Anthony Medrano's shot missed high.
